Cwmbrân Town AFC are extremely happy to welcome the new management team for the 2020/21 season:

Dean Taylor - 1st Team Manager.
Dean is an ex-Goytre FC player and reserve team manager who has been highly successful for the last two seasons as manager of Rogerstone AFC.

Lee Waddon - 1st Team Coach.
Lee is an ex-Cwmbrân Town player, with stints at Goytre FC, Risca United, Cwmbrân Celtic and Croesyceiliog AFC. He was also part of the highly successful Rogerstone team with Dean.

Wayne Jepson - 1st Team Player/Coach.
Wayne started senior football in the Northern Counties East Football Leagues. He featured for the Crows back in 2006/07 and has Welsh League experience with Caerleon AFC. More recently he has played for New Inn AFC.

We would like to thank Rogerstone AFC for their response to Dean and Lee’s departure. Both have nothing but praise for the club and we wish Rogerstone all the very best for the new season.

The club is excited to have this team leading the way. All three are looking forward to a new, fresh and exciting challenge and we all look forward to the new season ahead.

Statement from the new Chairman

A statement from new club chairman, Brett Howells:

"I would like to express my personal thanks to Gareth Griffiths for all the hard work that he has put into Cwmbrân Town AFC over the last ten years plus.

Cwmbrân Town Seniors and Youth would not be where it is today without Gareth’s vision, commitment, hard work and guidance. I genuinely believe that Cwmbrân Town AFC would no longer exist without Gareth’s hard work.

Taking the Chairman role when the club was relegated out of Welsh League, to the Gwent County Division 1, he took over a dramatically spiraling club and stabilised it when most would have given up.

Financially the club has always been in the black since Gareth’s takeover and he achieved one of his goals last year of a trophy in the cabinet.

Gareth should be extremely proud of himself for everything he has achieved and will always be known as a legend of Cwmbrân Town and a great friend to myself.

I know that the position I have taken on is not an easy one. I am under no illusion that the next six months are extremely important and are going to be hard work. I’ve seen the hard work Gareth has put in over the years and will do my best to achieve the goals the club will set.

It will be a long term plan of getting back to the Welsh League, that will be the priority for the next few years and to continue the sustainability of the football club. With the ongoing support of Gareth and others I’m confident we can achieve our goals."

Statement from the Chairman

A statement from club chairman, Gareth Griffiths:

"Having spent the last few weeks thinking long and hard I have decided that I will be stepping down as Chairman and leaving Cwmbrân Town AFC at the end of this season, 2019/20. I will remain in the position until the end of the season unless the club finds a suitable replacement sooner.
I feel I have given all I can during the last 11 years as chairman of this great club, along with 4 years as youth chairman and see it now as the right time to allow someone else with fresh new ideas to come in and take the club forward.
It has been very challenging at times but has also been very rewarding. I would like to thank all the people I have met along the way, managers, players, committee members and supporters and hope I can remain friends with you all.
I will continue to support Cwmbrân Town AFC whenever possible and obviously wish them every success for the future."
